The super power of self love!

 

The summer is over! We are starting to get less daylight, less outside fun things to do and more darkness and moody feelings. It’s crazy how the season change or just rainy and cold days can ruin our mood.  Let’s stay positive thru the rest of the year and set our minds for greatness.

Here are just a few of our tips on how to keep a healthy mind and body:

Let’s start with Self love. You should know this by now: everything starts with you- your mind creates your reality. Positive thoughts, attract positive things in your life and vice versa. Spend some quality time with yourself and learn how to appreciate and love your beautiful self every day.

You’d never invite a thief into your house…so why would you allow thoughts that steal your joy to enter and live inside your mind?

It all might sound trivial but have you tried to put it in action?

The first step of changing your mindset is the desire to improve it and acknowledge what is stopping you. Every last one of us has flaws- if it’s not our character, it’s our body. That’s the beauty of human nature. Every one of us is unique. You’ve probably heard of this one- “Be you, because everyone else is already taken”. You will start seeing a difference in no time. People around you will notice the change in your confident walk, your smile, the way you carry yourself -because the outer beauty comes from within.

Nurture your body:

Our bodies are the temple of our souls. Take care of yours well so your body can serve you longer on earth. If possible exercise 3-4 times a week – that’s not only going to help you get stronger, but it will teach you discipline and focus. You will get more things done, build your confidence and smile more often.

Changing your diet– most people get scared when they hear the “D” word, so we are going to call it a lifestyle. It really is, if you look at it this way: replacing bad habits with healthy ones. Add more veggies in your meals, whole foods, drink more water, cut the dairy as much as you can, lower the carbs and eat at least 2 hours before you go to bed. If you eat something sweet make sure you do it in the morning so you can burn the calories during the day. Sleep more, laugh more, love more and watch how everything changes!            

Replace “I have no time” with “It’s not a priority” and you’ll see what you put first and if it’s worth it. The truth is tough but nothing is going to change if you don’t take action and remain  in your comfort zone. Half effort gives half result- remember that!                           

Do one good deed every day- let someone in a rush go in front of  you (no need to get upset, you don’t know their story), compliment your co-worker, tell your partner how much you love or  miss them, help someone cross the street if you see them struggle, surprise a friend with something you know they would like. Bringing joy and making people smile is just a different level of happiness. You will actually do it not only for them but for yourself as well. You can’t describe this, you have to feel it.   

Challenge yourself–  Keep your mind busy and your brain working daily. Read books that will help you improve your career, give you new ideas and just make you better in every way. We learn new things daily. In life -school never ends and the key is to use the lessons we’ve learned wisely. 

Look 20 years ahead and ask yourself- is this where I want to be?

If the answer is “No” , it’s time to get to work!

Learn how to rest so you can start fresh the next day or take a week if you need it. Sometimes you need more time to “recharge”.                                                                                                                        

Meditate. If you don’t really know how to do it or you are not sure, you can try this method:

Lay down in your bed and close your eyes. Inhale. Exhale. Relax your body from head to toe. Focus on your breathing. When you see a thought coming to distract your peace just imagine you grab it with your hand and throw it away. Keep your mind calm until you fall asleep. This method has helped me tremendously; I’m sharing from personal experience. You will wake up so refreshed and ready to face what the new day has to offer, I promise you that!

Every day is a new opportunity, so wake up with a heart filled with gratitude and don’t forget to practice self-love!
